Here are some other benefits of this juice (as if the first ones weren’t enough!) and then a tip for getting the best out of it.

  • Carrot juice can help with allergies such as hay fever because it helps to reduce inflammation in the respiratory tract.
  • It has an alkalizing nature which relaxes your skin and eyes and helps to purify your blood. Although it can help to improve the texture of your skin, too much carrot juice can turn your skin slightly orange, however this is totally harmless – in fact, some people like it because they feel it gives their skin a slightly tanned look!
  • Drinking carrot juice while pregnant can help to reduce the risk of jaundice and improve breast milk quality.
  • One cup of carrot juice daily in the morning can help eliminate pinworms and roundworms in children.
  • Carrots are high in anti-oxidants and have been promoted as anti-carcinogenic. They are rich in silicon and potassium.

Carrot Tonic 

For a refreshing blood and liver tonic, add blueberry juice, coconut water, and nettle tincture to your carrot juice.

Juicing Tip

The nutrients of carrots are more concentrated in and near the skin, so ideally you don’t want to peel away all that goodness. Conventional carrots may have pesticide residue on the skin, so buy organic carrots, wash well and juice them with the peel on.

Juice the carrots using a cold-press juicer for best effect.

Carrot Juice for Diabetics?

If you have diabetes, you don’t want to drink too much carrot juice. Eat whole carrots so that you get the fibre as well. Or use a small amount in a fresh smoothie – again, the fibre in the smoothie will slow the absorption of the carrot nutrients into your blood.
